Play Cloudfall: Expeditions
before anyone else

Cloudfall: Expeditions is a hex strategy game where all four expeditions plan in secret and move at the same moment. We are opening a closed playtest on Google Play. Testers aren’t charged, and what you tell us changes the game before launch.

Sign-up uses the Google account on your Android phone. The form is hosted by Brevo, our email provider. Please read the privacy notice first.

The game

Four expeditions. One region. Thirty turns.

  • Everybody moves at once. Plan in secret, seal your orders, then watch every move land together. No waiting for three other people.
  • Know the odds before you commit. The attack forecast shows the damage range, the dodge and the blow that comes back.
  • Solo, pass and play, or online. It plays offline against bots; friends join with a room code and bots fill empty seats.
  • Five faction liveries, a daily expedition and a 12-expedition Ledger. Looks are earned by playing and never change the rules.

Pre-release trailer: it is the game running, with the game’s own score.

  • Four expeditions resolving the same turn on a small hex map.
  • The attack forecast showing the odds before orders are committed.
  • The Expedition Report after a finished match.
  • The region dissolving at the rim in the final turns.

How it works

Four steps, about five minutes

  1. 1

Use the Google account you use on your Android phone. Google Play only lets that account into the test. We email you to confirm the address.

  2. 2

    We add you

Once you’ve confirmed, you’re on the list. We let testers in gradually, so it can take 1 to 7 days before your account is added. You’ll get a confirmation email with every step on the day we add you, and the test link works from then.

  3. 3

    Install from Google Play

Tap the test link in that email, choose Become a tester and install as normal. You are not charged: the email explains how.

  4. 4

    Play, and tell us

Play a few matches, try one online with a friend if you can, and send us feedback. A short form takes about five minutes.

What we ask

Stay in for the whole test

Please don’t leave the test partway through. Google asks us to run the test for at least 14 days in a row before a new game can go on sale, so a tester who stays opted in to the end is a real help, even if you stop playing for a while.

You need an Android phone (Android 8 or later; 3 GB of memory or more is recommended) with the Play Store, and the Google account on it. You must be 13 or older.

Anything helps: what you enjoyed, what confused you, anything that broke. Reply to our emails, use the feedback form we send, or write to support@thegreatcloudgame.life.

Questions

Before you sign up

Do I have to pay?

No. The finished game is a one-off purchase with no ads or in-app purchases, but testers aren’t charged. We add your account to Google Play’s licence-tester list, which lets you “buy” the game with a test card that always approves and never takes real money. If that ever isn’t available, the game’s free 60-minute trial still lets you play. Never enter a real card for the test.

Why do you need my Google account email?

Google Play only lets listed accounts install a closed test, so we add yours to the tester list. We use it for nothing else. The privacy notice below has the details.

How long until I can play?

It can take 1 to 7 days from when you confirm your email. We add testers in batches so we can fix problems as they come up, and a daily check picks up new sign-ups. Confirm your address first (check spam for the message from Brevo). You’ll get a confirmation email, with the test link and every step, once we’ve added you. If nothing has arrived after 7 days (check spam first), write to support@thegreatcloudgame.life.

Is there an iPhone version, or a PC version?

The test is Android-only. After launch we plan to bring the game to Google Play Games on PC, then Steam and the Microsoft Store, with the Epic Games Store and GOG later. Each PC store sells its own copy. There is no iPhone or iPad version planned right now. The launch newsletter will tell you about anything new.

Will you send me marketing?

No. Playtest emails are about the test only. The launch newsletter is separate and you must sign up for it on its own.

Privacy notice for the playtest sign-up

Version 1.0 · 3 October 2026. This covers the sign-up and the test emails only. The game itself is covered by the Cloudfall: Expeditions privacy policy, and our newsletter and website by the website privacy notice.

Who we are

The Great Cloud, the developer of Cloudfall: Expeditions on Google Play, is responsible for this data. Contact: support@thegreatcloudgame.life.

What we collect, and why

  • Your email address, which must be the Google account you use on your Android phone, because Google Play only lets that account into the test.
  • Your country, because Google Play only offers a test in the countries we choose.
  • Your first name (optional), so our emails can greet you.
  • Your confirmations that you have an Android phone, are 13 or older, and agree to take part.
  • Anything you send us: feedback-form answers and emails, including a diagnostics note if you choose to paste one.

We use these only to add your Google account to the test’s tester lists in Google Play Console, to email you about the test (your invite, how to install, reminders and requests for feedback), and to improve the game.

We don’t add you to our newsletter and don’t send you marketing. If you’d like the newsletter too, sign up for it separately on the game page.

Legal basis

Your consent, given when you tick the box on the form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us. We then remove you from the test and delete your details.

Who else handles it

  • Brevo, our email provider, stores the sign-up and sends our emails on our behalf (Brevo’s privacy policy).
  • Google receives your email address when we add it to the test’s tester list and to the licence-tester list, and knows that you joined the test. Google handles that under its own privacy policy.

We never sell or share your details with anyone else.

How long we keep it

We delete your sign-up from Brevo, and your address from the Google Play tester lists, no later than 6 months after the test ends. If you leave the test or ask us to delete your details, we do it straight away.

Age

You must be 13 or older to sign up. If you’re under 18, please ask a parent or guardian first.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy of it. Email support@thegreatcloudgame.life. You can also complain to your data-protection authority; in the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
